Von der Decke zum Boden is an installation in which a 100 kilogram steel ball is suspended just below the ceiling. Once an hour the heavy object is released and falls to the ground with a dull thud. The impact generates a shock wave, which is clearly felt by any person present in the space. After hitting the ground, the ball is pulled back into position at the ceiling by a pulley system. There it hangs for a complete hour before falling to the ground once again.
