Due Massi Identici consists of two milled rock blocks suspended from a stainless steel structure reminiscent of laboratory support stands. The work measures 4.15 m in height and weighs approximately 5 tonnes. At first glance, the stones appear to be solid boulders; on closer inspection, however, each is revealed as a thin outer shell, reinforced with carbon fiber and supported by a delicate internal stainless steel lattice directly connected to the load-bearing rods. Designed for permanent outdoor installation, the supporting structure is composed of solid stainless steel rods joined by custom CNC-milled nodes, stabilized with bolts and dowel pins, and anchored via threaded connections to stainless steel feet welded onto a steel base.
